Coastal Living

A beach house should be a place of simplicity and relaxation, a place where memories of sun & sand exist. It must be functional, yet beautiful. When we think of a beach house we think of family and friends, boating and sand castles. Well... this is exactly what the design of the interior should reflect.

Here's a few images we love, a way to get you inspired to begin your beach house project, or at least to take a quick break from the hustle & bustle of the everyday, and learn some tricks on how to simplify your home, so that it feels like a vacation everyday.

The interior of a beach house should contain items that remind you of the memories that have been made there, and those that will be made in the future. Also, it must contain pieces you love, and colors that make you happy. The overall design must reflect and add to the calming nature of  living on the water. Blues, greens, whites, and wood tones are an easy way to get that beachy feeling inside. We love using whites as the basis for the design, and bringing in colors and textures through furniture and accessories.

Our go to items are the Mainly Baskets occasional chairs, that bring in some great wood tones, and Dash and Albert Indoor/ Outdoor rugs. The rugs are so functional for a beach home that sees lots of sand and salt water, as it can be taken outside and hosed down! We love going to antique stores and flea markets to find some great pieces to add to the design. Here are some pictures we love, enjoy.
